Filing Smart - 2009 Annual and 2010 Quarterly Filing Requirements

FILING SMART
You are here:

NOTE: Requirements for filing annual, quarterly, and supplemental filings are based on proposed Annual Statement Rule 28 TAC § 7.66

The NAIC has adopted substantive amendments to the Accounting Practices and Procedures Manual for SSAP No. 10R, 43R, 62R, and 100. The Texas Department of Insurance (the “Department”) supports these changes and is currently working to adopt them by rule, but the rule will not be effective until after the Annual Statement filing deadline of March 1, 2010.

In an effort to promote consistency in reporting nationwide, the Department has no objection to companies’ applying these SSAP amendments to 2009 statutory year end reporting. The Department is treating this as approval of a permitted practice in accordance with TEX. ADMIN.CODE §7.18(e). No formal request for a permitted practice is required.
